Please welcome Tvisha Singh, Dr. Qi Xie, and Prof. Seokhee Kim!
Tvisha is a first-year Chemical Biology Ph.D. student. She is shadowing Justin Kwon, who is developing FLIMINGO in the Schepartz Lab. She received her B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Southern California.
Dr. Qi Xie joins as a postdoctoral scholar after completing his Ph.D. in Chemistry at Johns Hopkins University, advised by Professor Stephen Fried.
Dr. Seokhee Kim is an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry at Seoul National University. His research pursues two main goals centered on understanding and harnessing nature’s logic for generating biomolecular diversity. The first is to explore the natural diversity of ribosomally synthesized and post-translationally modified peptides (RiPPs)—a rapidly expanding class of natural products. The second is to develop novel in vivo DNA hypermutation methods with high target specificity, enabling continuous directed evolution of biomolecules. Dr. Kim is open to discussions and can be reached at [email protected] or in person in Tan Kah Kee Hall, Room 497.
