Request for Recommendation Letters

Professor Schepartz is delighted to provide letters of recommendation for undergraduate students at UC Berkeley who have taken Chem 12A or Chem 271. Please send all letter requests by email to both Professor Schepartz ([email protected]) and Karen Wong ([email protected]). Requests must be made at least three weeks in advance of the letter deadline and should include the following documents:

  1. CV or resume
  2. Summary of your research, if applicable
  3. Information on where to submit the letter, the deadline, and/or the list of institutions and deadlines
  4. Undergraduates should ask their GSI/research mentor to send a draft of a recommendation letter that includes the letter grade earned in the course to Karen Wong ([email protected]). This letter must also be received at least three weeks before the deadline.

Open Positions

Undergraduate Students

Undergraduates at UC Berkeley can apply for a research position in the Schepartz Lab by filling out this application. Schepartz lab members will review these applications on a rolling basis as positions become available in the lab.

Graduate Students:

Most graduate students in our group are members of the Department of Chemistry or the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology at UC Berkeley. If you are already a graduate student at UC Berkeley and are interested in our research, please contact Alanna.  If you are an aspiring UC Berkeley graduate student, please submit your application materials via the portals associated with the two departments listed above.

Postdoctoral Scientists:

Prospective postdoctoral researchers are encouraged to submit a cover letter and complete curriculum vitae and arrange for three letters of recommendation. Postdoctoral inquiries and letters of recommendation are accepted via both e-mail and US mail.
